Our Story

Born from a love of slow afternoons and long conversations.

Chocolat' 229 began with a simple conviction: that the best gatherings happen when the lighting is low, the drinks are thoughtful, and there's no rush to leave. We opened our doors on South Main Street in the heart of historic Galena, where brick sidewalks and timeless architecture set the tone for everything we do.

By day, we pour single-origin coffee and craft chocolate creations that honor the bean from soil to sip. By night, the space transforms — the menu shifts to cocktails built around house-made infusions, bitters, and a genuine respect for the craft. Same room. Different rhythm.
